Nutrition Policy
- Objectives
As an agribusiness and food manufacturing conglomerate, PPB Group Berhad ("PPB") and its subsidiaries (collectively the “Group") aim to deliver healthy and high-quality products for people from all walks of life and strive to enhance our recipes and production methods. In addition, we aim to provide consumers with the knowledge and information they require to make informed purchasing decisions. - Scope
Our Nutrition Policy (“Policy”) applies to marketing communications and products developed by or for our Grains and Agribusiness, Consumer Products, and Film Exhibition and Distribution segments. - Principles
The Group commits to:
Enhancing Accessibility to Nutritious Food
- Collaborate with various groups to educate and raise awareness about healthy eating habits;
- Prioritise the fortification of commonly consumed foods with at least one essential micronutrient where appropriate;
- Explore opportunities for healthier ingredient selection in our food manufacturing process;
- Provide alternative food products with more environmentally friendly ingredients; and
- Where applicable, display the optimal serving and portion sizes.
Clear and Transparent Labelling
- Comply with all legal requirements on food labelling in accordance with applicable local laws;
- Provide a comprehensive list of ingredients as well as, allergen and nutritional information on our product packaging; and
- Assure consumers of our products' quality and safety standards by using explicit certification marks as applicable.
- Oversight of Policy
The PPB Board of Directors (“the Board”) has oversight responsibility to ensure the Group’s business strategy and direction align with the commitments outlined in the Policy. The Sustainability Steering Committee (“SSC”) supports the Board in making recommendations for and managing nutrition-related initiatives. - Policy Review
The Policy will be reviewed and updated as and when necessary, by the SSC for approval by the Board.
The Policy sets out the general principles and guidance, and shall not constitute a ground for any counterparts, stakeholders, third parties etc. to claim against the Group for any liability.
