Caring for the people
Guided by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we recognise that the success of our business is closely interconnected with the wellbeing of people and the progress of society. Through our focus on employee wellbeing and talent development, health and safety, human rights, and community engagement, we aim to create shared value by protecting our workforce, respecting fundamental rights across our value chain, and contributing positively to the communities in which we operate. Together, these priorities enhance stakeholder trust and support the resilience and sustainability of our business over the long term.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
Annual Target: Achieve zero work-related fatalities for both employees and contractors’ workers
PPB Group recognises that the health, safety, and well-being of our employees, contractors, and other stakeholders are integral to our sustainability priorities. We are committed to continuous improvement in occupational health and safety aspect of our operations. This commitment aligns with the Group Human Rights Policy commitments and the local regulations.
Health and safety risk assessments are embedded within the Group Enterprise Risk Management Framework, supporting the Group’s goal of achieving zero workplace fatalities. Progress is measured through key performance indicators such as incident rates and audit outcomes. Performance across entities is benchmarked and, where relevant, against industry standards to drive continuous improvement.
HUMAN RIGHTS
Guided by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, we maintain a zero-tolerance stance on forced labour and child labour.
With manufacturing constituting the core of our business operations alongside farming, the Group has identified forced labour as a salient human rights risk. We implemented the Human Rights Guideline on Ethical and Responsible Hiring of Foreign Workers to operationalise these standards.
Business Associates are required to comply with the Procurement Due Diligence Procedures and the Group Human Rights Policy.
CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Annual Target: Achieve 1000 employee volunteering hours
As a responsible corporate citizen, we strive to create lasting value by balancing economic growth with positive social impact. The Group works closely with NGOs and social enterprises to support communities through product contributions, financial support, and employee volunteerism. Guided by our purpose to enhance quality of life for all, we focus on initiatives that empower local communities and create meaningful change.
