Malayan Adhesives & Chemicals Sdn Bhd (MAC), a 99.37% subsidiary of Chemquest, manufactures formaldehyde-based chemical intermediates for a range of industries.
   The Adhesive Division manufactures adhesives, resins, additives and formaldehyde, which are marketed to domestic wood-based and paper industries for use in the production of plywood, medium density fibreboards and particleboards. MAC also produces strengthening resins for the corrugated paper industry.
   The Microsphere Division produces phenolic thermoset microspheres which are used primarily for weight reduction in a variety of applications in the aerospace, automobile, marine, defence, electronic, coatings and adhesives sectors. MAC's manufacturing plant in Shah Alam is the world's only producer of phenolic microspheres which are marketed and exported under the tradename "Phenoset®".
